The Federal and State ministries of Agriculture have been urged to tackle the problems bedeviling the oil palm industry in the country with a view to harnessing its prospects. Some of the most important and critical of these problems and issues requiring urgent attention include land for oil palm plantations and certificate of occupancy, interest charges for agricultural credit, taxation structure, policy inconsistency including tariff, to mention but a few.
