Kim Riker didn't want to follow in her older sister's footsteps. But the lure of playing for a Division I nationally ranked program and staying close to home was too much.
The 2002 Herald-Tribune Player of The Year from Palmetto High signed with the University of South Florida on Wednesday. She is completing her second year as the starting catcher at Manatee Community College, which clinched its third consecutive Suncoast Conference championship this year.
