Moscow, 13 April: Currently, the main task for the law-enforcement bodies is to prevent terrorist activities, Deputy Prosecutor-General Sabir Kekhlerov said at today's parliamentary hearings "Current problems of the legal foundation of the fight against terrorism".

"With life in Russia becoming more stable, terrorism will be losing ground. However, currently the main task for the power-wielding structures is to prevent terrorist activities," he said.

Kekhlerov reminded the audience about completed trials of terrorists who had carried out terrorist acts in Moscow, Yessentuki, Groznyy, Vladikavkaz and Mineralnyye Vody. He noted that the Russian public is still not satisfied with the results of the work to prevent terrorism.

"Only 25 per cent of crimes committed by terrorists are solved," he said.
