The Ben Taylor Band, "Day After Day," Famous Among the Barns (Iris)
This is where buying an album based on one song gets tricky. "Day after Day" is by far the bounciest tune on Ben Taylor's debut disc. The balance alternates between the softer and more refined manner of proud papa James Taylor and adoring mama Carly Simon, both of whom provide background vocals, and some straight ahead rock'n'roll. Famous Among the Barns has been carefully crafted to accent the songs over the singer, tho' it's difficult to deflect one's attention from a voice as distinctive as Ben Taylor's, and its eerie similarity to James's.
