My memories of the LP era are starting to fade (along with a lot of other things), but I certainly cannot forget the wonderful Angel release of Previn conducting Briten's Sinfonia de Requiem and Four Sea Interludes and Passacglia from Peter Grimes. (One of the things I can't quite remember is whether I also purchased the EMI version of this release--I think I did, but I can't quite recall for sure.) It was one of the records that I returned to often, both for its sound (it was one of the recordings that I always pulled out to evaluate audio components and speakers) and for the musical enjoyment that both my wife and I took from it, especially the Peter Grimes music, ...
