New Delhi: The BJP today succeeded in getting the allies of the NDA endorse the party's Hindutva related concerns -Ram temple, repeal of IMDT and a law to ban cow slaughter. Armed with this endorsement, Prime Minister A B Vajpayee described the Ram temple as a national issue that should not be allowed to linger on and his finance minister Jaswant Singh said the new government will be firm on the commitment to repeal of IMDT.
The reference to these issues in the NDA's common agenda was included after consultations with allies and they will now find it difficult to toe independent line on these issues.
