Trade: New Int'l Border Gate to Laos Opened.

Vietnam's central province of Thanh Hoa and Hua Phan province of Laos officially opened the Na Mao - Nam Xoi International Border Gate on April 5, under the authorization of the governments of the two nations.

The border gate has been in use in a small scale for decades, contributing to the maintanence of security and trade development between the two countries. It used to be a peaceful border gate, but in recent years increasing smuggling activities have made its control more difficult and the two countries are seeking measures to curb the activity.
