After a practice early last March, Lightning right winger Martin St. Louis gave in to the request from his teammates. In the tiny visitors locker room at a suburban Long Island rink, St. Louis walked across the floor on his hands to entertain his friends.
A former gymnast, St. Louis showed his strength, coordination and some speed, all for a laugh. During that breakout season, when he became an All-Star and put himself on the radar screens of NHL teams and fans, St. Louis also showed an ABC audience his upside-down talent. It was a good visual for a TV interview, but this man is more than a novelty act--and he is more than a one-season wonder.
