It has been said that the SPORTING NEWS never has met a list it didn't like. And there are few in the home office who would dispute that point. We like our lists. Greatest teams, toughest players, most-boneheaded personnel decisions, best running backs, the elite of college basketball, top golfers. If something in sports can be ranked--and is worthy of being ranked--chances are we've done it in this magazine or in book form.
