SARASOTA -- More than 800 elementary students will change schools under a new redistricting plan crafted for three crowded schools in eastern Sarasota County.
The opening of a new elementary school at Palmer Boulevard in 2005 will reconfigure attendance zones for Ashton, Fruitville and Lakeview elementary schools.
Sarasota County's School Board will get its first look at the plan Tuesday.
The new school is expected to relieve overcrowding at Ashton Elementary. Drawing the attendance zone will affect students at the other nearby schools as well.
