Design is a creative process. I don't know about you, but I love to develop curriculum and lessons that challenge my students and allow them to be successful. The success is developed when the learner is provided with a method by which problems can be solved. Proper tools need to be given to them as well as access to information for research.
The development of a technology begins as a desire to meet a need or want. The technology is then developed through a process. This process is regarded by many as design. To become literate in the design process one must acquire the cognitive and procedural knowledge needed to create a design. If we think of ITEA and its association members as those designing the technologically literate person, the means by which this is carried out is through education.
