(From Irish Independent)
Such is her knowledge and experience of the web that Oracle's security chief Mary Davidson refuses to buy anything online. "Security is not anyone else's problem, it is everyone's," she says
MARY Davidson is the chief security officer at Oracle Corporation, the US IT systems giant, so maybe that explains her caution when it comes to buying on theinternet.
"I tend to be risk-averse, so I don't buy anything on the internet," she told theIrishIndependent.
A stance that may not instil confidence in those of us that do, but perhaps a sensibleword of warning.
Ms Davidson, who is also currently co-chair of a task force in association with the USDepartment of Home Security, later clarifies that books are her downfall and you don't getthe same sense of satisfaction buying books on the internet.
Maybe so. But it's important for internet consumers to be as discriminating as possible, she warns.
