SEOUL, April 1 Asia Pulse - The number of South Korean cell phone customers who switched carriers without changing phone numbers reached 700,000 under a new system that went into effect three months ago, industry officials said Thursday.
Starting on Jan. 1, the nation's 34 million mobile phone users are allowed to change operators while keeping their phone numbers under the so-called number portability rule.
