Today is a day of total fire ban in the ACT.

The ban is in place until midnight tonight.

The restriction is based on current weather forecasts and may be extended.

The department of Urban Services announced yesterday that, in accordance with normal practice on total fire-ban days, access to some public reserve areas would be restricted until 9am tomorrow.
