Young people quizzed yesterday Federal Minister for Children and Youth Affairs Larry Anthony about everything from GST on condoms, to graphic TV ads on abortion to youth wages. At the first Talkback Classroom session for 2004 at the National Museum, a panel of students asked Mr Anthony about a wide range of issues. They included health and child abuse, teenage pregnancy, sex education and the effectiveness of the National Youth Roundtable.
The session was recorded by Canberra Institute of Technology students and will be broadcast on Radio National's Life Matters program on April 5 after 9am.
Talkback Classroom gives students from around Australia access to politicians and important public figures, with help from the Parliamentary Education Office.
