The ACT A-Grade softball grand final between the Storm and the Boomerangs is far from a one horse race.
With the Storm having struggled to win a game since it lost its star pitcher Rhonda Denbow at Christmas some people had suggested that whoever won last weekend's semi-final between the Boomerangs and the Angels would automatically win the grand final.
The Storm limped home through the latter parts of the season but gained automatic entry into the grand final thanks mainly to its pre- Christmas form.
Storm player, and caretaker coach for the grand final, Deb Sayers believes her team is primed to bounce back from their poor form and win the championship.
Especially since she has used any criticism of her team's form to motivate her players.
''Every time I turn on the radio I hear people saying that whoever won the semi was going to win the grand final,'' Sayers said.
