Brian Dooks YORKSHIRE'S honour was upheld in archery contests in castles 120 miles apart at the weekend - reinforcing the county's claim to being the birthplace of Robin Hood.
English Heritage's own Robin - alias Steve Lunn from Rotherham - was the undisputed victor when longbow skills were put to the test at Richmond Castle and Nottingham Castle.
On Saturday Mr Lunn won 144-84 in a contest against Tony Rotherham, who plays the legendary figure at The Tales of Robin Hood visitor attraction in Nottingham.
