Oct. 17--Alamance County's economy is strong and getting better was the consensus among speakers at an economic summit at Elon University on Monday.

The Alamance Area Chamber of Commerce held its inaugural economic summit at the newly minted Ernest A. Koury Sr. Business Center. About 150 local business, government and education leaders attended.

"Our objective is to encourage ways to better our county and cultivate a thriving community of leadership, industry and development," said Chamber President Mac Williams.
