ALBANY, N.Y., Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Despite lots of experience with snow, ice storms and power outages -- and despite funds for emergency preparedness training and planning for a pandemic or terrorist attack -- some in the Buffalo, N.Y, area will be sitting in the dark for 10 days after an early snowstorm left almost 400,000 homes without power.
There has been little national coverage of this disaster. CNN's Anderson Cooper and Fox New Channel's Shepard Smith have not documented Buffalo's latest disaster, and The New York Times gave it a few paragraphs Sunday.
So many outside the region may not realize that the very same thing could happen to them....
