AN OUTBREAK of vandalism in Levin has reinforced the need for surveillance cameras in the central business area, police say.
Senior Sergeant Kris Burbery said the latest incident happened last weekend when women's public toilets in Salisbury St had doors, partitions and toilet seats ripped off and a toilet broken.
Mr Burbery said the attack followed many incidents at the Levin Women's Bowling Club in Bath St, where greens had been disfigured and torn up, and many cases of wilful damage in the town centre, including smashed shop windows and broken fences.
