VENICE GARDENS -- Patty's back.

And so are the burgers, beer and mix of customers that made Norma Jean's a Venice institution for almost 20 years.

After a two-year hiatus, the popular Tampa Avenue watering hole has reinvented itself in the Kmart Plaza at 1635 U.S. 41 South.

Key to the new Norma Jean's is Patty, the waitress who developed a cult following at the old place.

She's back, but Patty has changed a bit, as has Norma Jean's.

No more Friday fish fry, for one thing. New owner Stephen Kapavitch, 55, plans to limit food service to lunch only, so that revenue from food will stay below …
