* Dr. Jill Beck, a professor of dance and director of the da Vinci Research Center for Learning Through the Arts at the University of California at Irvine, will become the first female president of Lawrence University WI in its 158-year history, starting July 1. She replaces Dr. Richard Warch, who is retiring after 25 years as president.

* Dr. Nancy Cantor, former provost at the University of Michigan who is currently chancellor of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, will become president of the private Syracuse University NY.

* Dr. Kathryn E. Jeffery, VP for student services at Columbia College CA, moves to chief campus administrator of the Charleston campus of the Community College of Southern Nevada.

* Dr. Anne B. Kerr, VP of institutional research and advancement at the University of Richmond VA, will become president of Florida Southern College on July 1.

* Judith K. Kvinsland, associate dean for planning and assessment at Pierce College district II WA, becomes VP of the Mendocino coast campus of the College of the Redwoods ...
