In December 2003 when WIHE reported that Dr. Gloria Bromell-Tinubu, a professor of economics at Spelman College GA, would become the new president of Bethune-Cookman College FL, it seemed like a done deal.
Now the deal has unraveled. According to Bromell-Tinubu, she and the college settled major contract issues such as salary, benefits and length of employment shortly after she was selected in November. But the contract offered her failed to address details such as severance pay, vacation time and sick leave, she said.
