The Acer SV-200 7-in-1 Digital Video Camcorder is likely to generate more chatter over lunch than Janet Jackson's flash during this year's Superbowl.
The first question is likely to be: "Wow! Is that a new phone you have there?"
A phone it is not, but the Secure Digital Card-based device can serve as a four-megapixel still camera, a 640x480 video camera, a voice recorder, an MP3 player, a webcam and a storage device.
Those who are not numerically challenged may question how this constitutes seven functions. Apparently, the boys at Acer distinguish USB connectivity as the seventh function.
All this may sound impressive, until you consider the small plastic lens at the back of the unit. If I had children I would not use the SV-200 to take their graduation pictures. Likewise, the 640x480 pixel resolution of the camera does not impress and the standardised MP3 player is no iPod.
