Two airlines in greater China _ Air Macau and Shanghai Airlines _ are expanding their freighter fleet to take advantage of the mainland's burgeoning airfreight market.

Air Macau has inked a deal with US carrier Tradewinds Airlines to lease two Airbus A300B4 freighters that will be used to operate all-cargo scheduled services between Macau and a raft of mainland cities.

Under the contract, Tradewinds will provide the aircraft, flight crew, provide maintenance and insurance. Air Macau will lease the aircraft for a year starting in mid-April.
