Like their public utility jeepney counterparts, bus operators are also asking the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to grant them a P1 provisional increase in transport fares.

The Alliance of Bus Associations of the Philippines (ALBAP) yesterday said it wanted an interim increase because "the tedious process is already taking its toll on the bus operation," referring to its pending petition for a P2 hike in bus fares.
