Frances Ruth Backer
Frances Ruth Backer, 93, Sarasota, died March 14, 2004.
She was born Jan. 10, 1911, in Redding, Conn., and came to Sarasota in 1957 from Ridgefield, Conn. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star in Danbury, Conn. She was a Methodist.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Freivogel of Sarasota; a grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.
No local services are planned. National Cremation Society, Sarasota chapter, is in charge.
Memorial donations may be made to Pines of Sarasota, 1501 N. Orange Ave., Sarasota, FL 34236.
Charlie Baker
Visitation for Charlie Baker, a Sarasota resident who died March 13, 2004, will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at Jones Funeral Home. A service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at True Vine M.B. Church. Burial will be in Palms Memorial Park.
