To examine gender differences in the correlates of early-onset conduct disorder (CD), researchers evaluated 217 Canadian children referred to school-based treatment for behavioral problems. Children (mean age = 9.3) were split into two groups: those who met the criteria for CD (57 males; 18 females) and those who did not ("control group"; 15 males; 27 females). Outcome measures included the Diagnostic Interview Schedule for Children, a modified version of the Direct and Indirect Aggression Scale, the Composite International Diagnostic Interview Simplified and the Alabama Parenting Questionnaire.
