BEIJING, Oct 16 Asia Pulse - The handling volume of China's major ports hits 1.16 billion tons in the third quarter, according to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Communications.
Of the number, 409 million tons were foreign trade related, a rise of 19.6 per cent year on year.
Over the first nine months of the year, the country's major ports handled 3.36 billion tons of goods, up 20 per cent from that of a year ago.
