Belying predictions, the mortgage interest rate is still going down, although only incrementally, The banks' average interest rate on linked mortgages has declined by a further 0.02% since the beginning of March to 5.08%, according to figures collated by the Bank of Israel. The current average mortgage interest rate is the lowest since December 1997.
