Traffic Rebounds After 9/11 Lull
Seizures this week of quantities of methamphetamine and the party drug Ecstasy with a total street value of more than $2 million capped a round of post-Thanksgiving law enforcement drug sweeps in New Mexico, according to federal court records.
Authorities cite the seizures as indications of large shipments of drugs crisscrossing the state after heightened security along the U.S.-Mexico border following the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks led to a lull in drug trafficking.
