TOKYO, March 9 Asia Pulse - Toshiba Plant Systems & Services Corp. (TSE:1983) is planning to offer a variety of new systems that use smart tags and smart cards.
The company aims to raise sales from these operations over the next three years to 3 billion yen (US$27.0 million), just over four times the current amount.
It plans to offer a system that uses smart tags and temperature sensors to monitor the body temperatures of livestock, such as cattle, to determine the proper times for breeding.
Temperature sensors are attached at multiple points on an animal. Temperature data is stored via signal conversion equipment in a smart tag attached to the animal.
