The 2007 MTNA Conference in Toronto, Ontario, March 23-27, at the Sheraton Centre Toronto will be the first joint effort of MTNA, The Canadian Federation of Music Teachers' Associations and the Royal Conservatory of Music. This Collaborative Conference, as it will be referenced because of the partnership, will begin on Friday morning and culminate with the Conference Gala on Tuesday evening.
Highlights of the conference will include:
* Five full days of educational sessions and industry showcases
* Evening concerts featuring pianist Yefim Bronfman, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra with pianist Jane Coop and student soloists with the Royal Conservatory Orchestra
* Master classes by artists Jane Coop, David Wehr and Marvin Blickenstaff
* Free pre-conference workshop Pedagogy Friday, focusing on student evaluation and assessment in the studio
* National competitions finals showcasing the talents of students from the United States and Canada
