A POSTER on a political website that continued to mock a former Peterborough city councillor five months after his death has been removed after top-level intervention.

Liberal Democrat leader Sir Menzies Campbell ordered the city's party members to take down the article after complaints to the council from Ben Franklin's widow.

Cllr Franklin was depicted as "Franklinstein" in a mocked-up poster of the horror movie Frankenstein published on the Peterborough Liberal Democrats website.
