Djibouti, 4 March: The head of state [Ismael Omar Guelleh] who is also chairman of the [ruling party] Popular Rally for Progress [RPP], this morning chaired the party's eighth ordinary congress which was held at the party's headquarters on Bourhan Bey Street.

The eighth ordinary congress, which coincides with the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the RPP, was held in the presence of members of the executive committee as well as many delegates and supporters of the party.
