The Special Collections Department of the University of South Florida in Tampa (Lorel Reinstrom, Special Collections Cataloger), has recently received two collections of interest to music researchers and scholars. Dr. Benjamin Suchoff and Dr. Elliott Antokoletz, eminent Bartok scholars, have donated their personal manuscript materials related to their study and research of the composer, Bela Bartok. Suchoff is currently an adjunct professor of ethnomusicology at the University of California, Los Angeles, and Antokoletz is currently a professor of musicology and ethnomusicology at the University of Texas, Austin.
The Suchoff Collection includes monographs about or by Bartok, general music reference books, complete sets of Bartok, Igor Stravinsky, and Arnold Schoenberg scores (copies, not originals), photographs of Bartok and Zoltan Kodaly, published essays by various authors, programs, interviews, performance ...
