The Norwich volume (No. XXI) is a major addition to this important series. In it are published the surviving acts of three, very different, bishops: Pandulph Verraccio, Thomas Blundeville, and William Raleigh--the first a papal legate, the second an administrator of East Anglian origin, the third a very eminent judge. The edition is an admirable one, with full and learned commentaries and introduction. A valuable feature is an appendix retailing references to acts of the bishops.
