SEOUL, March 1 Asia Pulse - A unified Korea will be in a position to play a major role in furthering peace in Asia by triggering a fundamental move towards arms reduction, University of Pennsylvania professor Lawrence Klein said Saturday.

The Nobel laureate for economics said at the international conference to mark President Roh Moo-hyun's first year in office that if the two Koreas were to unite this would not only be a political, economical and cultural event, but further enhance peace in the world.
