GENEVA, March 1 Asia Pulse - A senior Taiwan trade official in Geneva made it clear that the island will stand firm in protecting its "sensitive" products such as rice when the new round of Doha Development Agenda trade talks are resumed.
Yen Ching-chang, Taiwan's permanent representative to the World Trade Organization (WTO), expressed Taiwan's position while meeting with Shotaro Oshima, the new chairman of the WTO's General Council Thursday.
The Doha Development Agenda trade negotiations will resume in mid-March, with agricultural issues still being the key issues of the talks.
