MALACANANG is amenable to holding the next round of peace talks with the communists in China later this month.

Presidential spokesperson Ignacio Bunye said President Macapagal-Arroyo welcomed the proposal by the communist National Democratic Front to hold the next round of negotiations in Beijing on March 29.

The date coincides with the 35th anniversary of the founding of the New People's Army, the military arm of the Communist Party of the Philippines, which is under the umbrella of the NDF.
