CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY- Luisita produced a runaway final round of 258 points at the Pueblo de Oro course yesterday to cap its unchallenged march to a record fifth straight Philippine Airlines Interclub Seniors Championship.
Iggy Clavecilla, who is still good enough to challenge for the national amateur championship, paced Luisita with 56 points on a two-under-par 70- a score that seniors rookie Tommy Manotoc matched for Wack Wack-to clinch the individual crown.
King Sumulong backstopped Clavecilla with 52 and Bong de Guzman, Alex Montelibano and Richie Garcia contributed 50 apiece under the eight-to-play, five-to-count format.
Rookie Francis Gaston and Lucio Yan came up with 48 apiece and Madoka Amano carded 44 that did not count for the Tarlac-based Luisitans, who posted a record 508 total in clinching their 12th title since the division was introduced in 1987.
Hot scoring
Manotoc's hot scoring helped Wack Wack amass 238 points that gave the Mandaluyong parbusters second place by one point over Alabang, 471-470.
