LUCENA CITY-The day after the tumultuous welcome for opposition presidential candidate Fernando Poe Jr. by thousands of his adoring fans during the Koalisyon ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino (KNP) grand campaign rally at the Alcala Sports Complex on Friday evening here, hordes of broom-wielding high school students were seen cleaning the place of piles of debris that the political affair left behind.
"There ought to be a law that would require politicians to clean up the place after every campaign rally. We're now a mass of young janitors and janitresses here in charge of picking up all the garbage they left behind," a senior high school student of the Quezon National High School (QNHS) told the Inquirer.
Not one of the students gave his name for fear of being castigated by their commandant who ordered them to sweep the sports grounds of debris.
"Maybe, he's an FPJ fan," said a student who was sweeping in front of the platform now bare of campaign posters.
Hundreds of QNHS Citizens Advancement Training cadets swarmed all over the vast grounds of the sports complex, picking up assorted litter.
