IN DIRE need of an import, Purefoods has trained its sights on a former National Basketball Association veteran to replace Lenny Cooke who tore his achilles heel during the TJ Hotdogs' debut against the Coca-Cola Tigers.
Player-agent Mike Gonzales of AMG Sports said the Purefoods team management has expressed interest in signing up Anthony Bonner, a six-year NBA veteran, to reinforce the TJ Hotdogs when they go up against the Shell Turbochargers in General Santos City on Thursday.
The Hotdogs are shopping around for a new import after Cooke underwent surgery to repair his left achilles tendon last week.
Team officials have ruled out Cooke, the top high school player in the US before Lebron James, from playing in the conference.
