Sarlahi [south central Nepal], 28 February: Security forces have arrested and killed two Maoist leaders who turned up for surrender. Region-level Maoist activist Gopal Karki and District Chairman of the Madhesi Mukti Morcha [a party affiliated to Maoists] Raj Narayan Yadav were arrested from Hajariya VDC-1 and killed by security forces.

Locals claim the security forces killed them two hours after the arrest on 24 February.
