THEY arrived five weeks ago with long hair and board shorts, many without a clue how to fold a hospital corner. Yesterday, the Australian Defence Force Academy's newest recruits marched on to the parade ground in full dress uniform, having just completed their initial intensive military training. It was a proud moment for Midshipman Karina Galliford, of Kambah, whose family and friends came to watch the parade. ''They can finally see what we've been doing,'' she said. The parade marked 308 recruits' successful induction into ADFA, the academy's highest intake in six years. More than 790 officer cadets and military staff marched at yesterday's parade.
