"MY father's life was a box-office hit."

This is how the eldest child of Nestor de Villa described the life of the late actor, who died last Feb. 21 of cardiac arrest.

"It was a perfect take," said Jeric Soriano, an advertising director, who also directed the feature film "Hotshots" in the '80s, during a service for the late actor last Thursday at the Worship Hall of the Christ's Commission Fellowship's Mandaluyong office.

Gines Francisco Soriano in real life, the actor was diagnosed to have cancer in 1998.

Good father

Although the public is familiar with Nestor, the actor, who was one-half of the Nida-Nestor love team on screen and television, his family remembers him more as a passionate preacher and a good father.
