(From Insurance Day)
Byline: Edward Ion
SINGAPORE specialist broker ITI has become the latest outfit to join the Newstead Group International (NGI), the expanding global network of political risk and trade credit insurance brokers.
ITI chief executive Freddie Lim told Insurance Day on Friday that joining Newstead would broaden his company's expertise and access to other high-quality, experienced broking houses specialising in those classes of business.
Singapore-based ITI is building up a reputation for specialist trade credit/political risk cover in the Singapore and international markets. It is starting to complete significant volumes of this business from Indonesia as that country's economy stabilises.
Mr Lim told Insurance Day: "We are delighted to be joining the NGI group which is a leading network of independent broking houses, now situated all over the world, which specialise solely on political risk and trade credit cover."
At the same time, NGI has also been joined by TradeLine Ltd, a similar broking outfit covering the Hong Kong and China markets.
