Since his engagement with Louis Vuitton and the installation of his sculpture Mr. Pointy at Rockefeller Center in 2003, the artist Murakami Takashi has become a household name. His participation in many prestigious exhibitions, including the 50th Venice Biennial in 2003, attests to his recognition overseas. Nara Yoshitomo, another Japanese artist who enjoys unfaltering popularity, has a solo exhibition touring five venues in the United States.
