LANXING GROUP CONDUCTS ON-SPOT INSPECTION OF SSANGYONG MOTOR

SEOUL - Lanxing Group of China on Friday began a two-day assessment of Ssangyong Motor Co.'s (KSE:003620) main plant in Pyeongtaek, 70 kilometers south of Seoul, before deciding whether to take over the carmaker or not.

The inspection team had planned to start the inspection on Thursday, but were delayed by opposition from the company's labor union, shortening the three-day schedule. The union reversed its position after dialogue with management and creditors.
