The United States Supreme Court has adopted proposed amendments to the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure that became effective December 1, 2003. These changes to the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure and the Official Forms pertain to the privacy of individuals, disclosures of corporate ownership and the information to be submitted by bankruptcy petition preparers. A new fee schedule also became effective on November 1, 2003 and is available on bankruptcy court web sites. A summary of the proposed amendments to the bankruptcy rules follows.
